Will it fit my car?
OpenHaldex supports most Haldex systems used by Volkswagen Audi Group, plus the GM version of Gen4, with Volvo support now in beta.

Model years vary by market and many cars changed generation part-way through production. Use the typical vehicles as a guide and confirm with the full Haldex versions and compatibility guide, which lists every make, model and year.
Volvo and SAAB Beta
Volvo and SAAB support arrived in the V10 and V11 beta firmware and runs in standalone mode for now: the controller sends every frame the Haldex needs, including Volvo’s network heartbeat, and puts your lock request into it. Pick the car under Settings → Haldex Generation. The bus speed follows the generation, so the pre-facelift P2 switches to 250 kbit/s automatically.

- Volvo P1 (S40 / V50). Built from logs of a 2005 V50 T5 AWD and driven like every other generation: the mode buttons, Expert and Learn Haldex all work, with speed, throttle, rpm, brake and handbrake read from the car. A Volvo P1 Standalone card sets how your lock request is shown to the AWD module (engine torque, wheel slip or both), and switching DSTC off can force a mode, like the TC button on a VW. You can try the P1 settings in the demo.
- Early support means the frames and lock bytes are a starting point that still needs confirming on real cars. Engagement is shown as a raw 0–100 % until logs give its true scaling.
Help us finish it. CAN logs from a Volvo or SAAB with the Haldex fitted are what turn early support into full support. Log the car with SavvyCAN (see the documentation) and share it in the OpenHaldex Discord. Volvo support needs the V11 beta from the firmware updater.
How to tell which generation you have
- Check the platform. MQB cars (Golf Mk7 onwards, Audi A3 8V onwards) are Generation 5. PQ cars can be Gen1 to Gen5 depending on age.
- Read the part number. The Haldex control module's part number shows up in a VCDS or OBD scan.
0CQand0AYprefixes are the most common on later cars.

Which harness?
The harnesses are optional but make installation plug-and-play and fully reversible.
- Gen1-4 harness for Generation 1, 2 and 4 cars.
- Gen5 harness for Generation 5 cars.

The controller works with every supported generation. You select the generation in Settings after fitting.
